PAWSitive Experience Training & Behavioral Consulting

Dog training and behavioral consulting to address everything from puppyhood, manners, walking nicely on leash, coming when called, jumping, anxiety, aggression, and anything else needed to help you better understand and speak to your dog.

I teach you to train your dog. Together we will use positive reinforcement training to teach your dog how to live happily and harmoniously in your home. We will help them adjust, feel safe, and comfortable as they accompany you out and about in public. Positive reinforcement training helps you create a relationship with your dog or dogs that is built on trust, support, and love.  This style of training teaches the dog desired behaviors, strengthens the bond with their guardian, and builds the dog's confidence. Your dog learns that they have control and the ability to make good things happen.

Get to Know PET!

PAWSitive Experience Training (PET) provides professional dog training support and behavior consultation services designed to bring you closer to a better experience with your pet and help you have a happy and harmonious life with your pup.

Possible training outcomes include:

  • Better understanding of your dog

  • Better communication with your dog

  • Increased confidence for your dog

  • Trained behaviors such as come when called, go lay down, leave it, and many others

  • Resolved problem behaviors such as jumping, barking, leash pulling, and potty training

Our process is to first gain a better understanding about you and your dog’s needs. Our PAWSitive Experience Training or PET intake form is designed to do just that - it allows our trainers to better understand your situation and how your situation might connect to your dog’s behavior.

The intake form should take about 5-minutes to fill out and will help the trainer know whether they might need one session or multiple sessions to address a specific issue.  More information may be required and more sessions suggested for a behavior consultation.

The assessment will also provide more information about the dog's medical issues and history.

The Dog Training Intake Form communicates information to the trainer about you and your dog.

From the intake form a 15-minute FREE phone consultation will occur with the goal to arrange a session or a series of sessions appropriate to your needs.

Each dog is an individual and needs to be treated as such, regardless of breed. A dog’s behavior is shaped by their environment and their experiences. Gaining a better understanding of your dog, paying attention to their behavior, and providing clear consistent communication should make good dogs - great dogs!

Where can PAWSitive Experience Training help you?

  • New puppies or older rescue dogs will benefit from basic obedience training.  Generally, four 45-minute to 1-hour sessions will enable the guardian to gain a better understanding about their dog and help the dog learn how to thrive in their new home.

  • Dogs with behavioral issues that may include: aggression, excitability, noise (and other phobias), resource guarding, and separation anxiety.  These cases require a more in-depth investigation, often during a multi-hour session with possible follow up visits.  Dogs with these issues may require a training component with weekly to monthly sessions.  These behavioral issues may require a behavior modification plan.   Virtual sessions are possible depending on the issue.

  • Dogs with medical problems.  Common challenges include: mobility issues, blindness, and deafness.

  • Dogs with one or two specific training issues.  Common issues include jumping, leash pulling, potty training, and barking.

“Chris helped Page Paws assess two shelter dogs this week for rescue placement. He is knowledgeable and kind. He cares about all dogs. He was prompt, patient with one of our dogs, and taught us new things to improve on when working with dogs. We would highly recommend him for in home training for your dog.” - Tracey Triggs
